Meet the Owner
Marching to the beat of her own drum has always been of importance to founder and Gen-XY owner, Ashley Tyrus, as she has long dreamed of owning her own vintage boutique. She will be the first to tell you about her adoration for vintage and 2nd hand clothing. From the scent and relaxed fit, to the stories that vintage clothing tells, she appreciates how each piece is rare and has its own identity. Ashley’s belief that everyone has the power to stand out in a crowd has helped her encourage society to go against the common style and create timeless fashion trends. With influence from many of the role models in her life, especially her parents, Ashley was taught to work hard for everything that you want to achieve in life.After obtaining a Bachelor of Science from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 2009, Ashley moved back home to Maryland. As she began to pursue a Master’s degree in Marketing and focus on her career goals, she wanted to incorporate things she had a passion for into a business of her own. Combining her love of vintage fashion and coffee shop ambiance, Gen-XY was born with love in January of 2011. It is Ashley’s desire that through Gen-XY, people will embrace vintage fashion and enjoy clothes, coffee and life.\ with love...
